Well, it’s the first week of college being cancelled and despite being three days in, I’m kind of bored. It’s the same for many students in various education levels in Ontario, and a few other provinces. I’m not sure if it’s the same everywhere else though. Despite the uncertain times, here’s a few things to make the best of being at home for the next 3 weeks.
One of the best things we can do right now is to stay indoors to try and stop the spread of covid-19, but that doesn’t mean we need to be bored. To start off the list, try a new hobby if you have the materials around. Other than running this blog, I also like to knit on the side. I get my yarn from Yarn Canada, and they also sell knitting needles and anything else you could possibly need.

For anyone who is really stressed about the overall situation or even before this started, I think it’s safe to say we need to all get started on some me-time. Best thing would be to treat yourself with a home spa session, if I remember correctly I have a blog post on how to make yourself a at-home spa with certain products here. It’s a little outdated but I’ll also have an updated one posted shortly.
Or maybe an at-home spa isn’t your cup of tea, but retail therapy is. I think it’s safe to say that now is probably the best time to shop online, a lot of different brands are temporarily closing their stores across Ontario and possibly Canada. Many of those brands are currently offering Free Shipping on their Canadian/international sites or a lower shipping minimum. Some of these brands don’t even offer free shipping or lower their minimum amount, so now’s the time. Brands: Sephora, Indigo, David’s Tea, Lush, La Senza, etc.

There’s also the option to discover your next favourite video game. I don’t play any during the school year so I’m probably a little out of touch with what’s hot. I suggest trying; The Sims 4, Overcooked, Stardew Valley, The Blackout Club, Slime Rancher and Craft the World. If you can’t meet your friends in person, you can always enjoy some time together online.
You can also find a great new novel to read if you’re up for it. I’ll link some suggestions down below (affiliate).
Update: I also forgot to mention that if you get a snack craving, you should probably check out ordering some from Oatbox and Naked Snacks. You can use my code malisassd to get $10 off your first order from Naked Snacks. Or if Oatbox is more your thing, use my code vesalisa for $10 off your first box!
Of course if all else fails, you can always tune in to my blog. I’m a little behind with posts, but I’ll be doing my best to try and catch up in the next 3 weeks.
