Now with these uncertain times and everyone staying at home, I find that now is the best time to start pampering yourself a little bit. Around two years ago I had made a blog post on how to create a home spa kit, this is meant to be a more updated version for 2020 so the format might be a little different.
Bath Essentials
Personally, I find a bath super relaxing but I know some people find that it wastes a lot of water/gives them too much time to think. However, if you don’t have a bathtub, you can fill up a bucket and kinda “bucket spa”, which also saves a portion of water if you’re conscious about that. You may still need to rinse off though.
Recommended Products: Favourite Lush bath bombs, bubble bath liquid, and Kokubo Foaming Bath (affiliate). Another item I’ve seen around are those Vita shower filters/showerheads. They seem to be a little on the expensive side but they claim to filter out harsh chemicals in tap water for you to get better skin, so they’re worth looking into.

Body Care
I want to be able to recommend some body scrub bars, but I find most leave a waxy film afterwards. The scrub pastes I’ve tried aren’t any better but those scrub/exfoliating cloths are alright. Take care not to overdo it though. For body lotion, there’s this one I got late last year at a store sale.
It’s from a brand called From Nature, and it’s actually supposed to be baby lotion but it’s really good. It’s liquidy without being horrible to work with, sinks into the skin very quickly and leaves a light orange or lemon scent. I wish I had a link for this product but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Masks
Like the older post two years ago, this section for masks will include all masks: sheet masks, capsule masks, clay masks and etc. Feel free to find a new one to try, or use one of your tried and true favourites. My current favourite sheet masks are Papa Recipe’s Bombee Fruitables and Dr. JayJun Source Cure Sheet Masks.
The Fruitable sheet masks come in boxes of 10 and have different colour categories that target certain things. The source-cure mask is formulated for sensitive skin and it’s my go-to during the cold winter months to moisturize my skin. Unfortunately, I can’t find either product on my usual online shopping site so I’ve linked a mask I find similar.
Hair
Following the order of things, let’s not forget about your hair! I’ve been a little lax with my hair care at home lately, but I do recommend these products. Aromatica’s Scalp Scrub was something I tried a couple of years ago that I’ve kept using since it’s a great spa day item to exfoliate your scalp and the rosemary leaves the scalp feeling fresh.
I also like this Damaged Hair Therapy Serum, it takes longer to see its effects but it’s great for smoothing the hair and repairing damage (dryness, split ends etc.). Couldn’t link the original item so I have a link to the lotion instead, the same use though. And finally, there’s this spray that’s great at helping hair dry faster and makes it smooth (or wavy, etc.).

Nails
I can’t have long nails because of the program I’m in school for, but since school had been effectively cancelled for the rest of the year (at least my college is) I think it’s a good time to break out some nail polish. However, if you aren’t looking forward to painting your own nails, there are things for that too! I would recommend the Dashing Diva False nails because they last pretty look and look great too. I haven’t tried the instant-gel-nail-strips but those look good too.
They also have similar versions for your toes too (both press on and the instant-strips I believe)!
And voila! An impromptu spa day, and for the future you can also put these items together in a bag/basket for a day when you need it most to de-stress. If all else fails, chocolate, tea and a videogame or two should do the trick!
