There are a lot of new products that I’m writing reviews for that I actually picked up at Warehouse Sales, and this was one of them. Prior to going to the warehouse sale, I had not known about the brand, but they sure did have a lot of interesting products. Based on what their rep was talking about, their products are made from botanic ingredients and I ended up getting a bunch of sunscreen.
Botanic Twenty also had a pretty neat eye serum thing that has two roller balls that dispense eye serum when pressed down, and you can use the roller ball to massage it into the skin. I didn’t end up buying that but maybe in the future. Anyways, back to the sunscreen. I got it for about $10-ish but I believe the price is around the $20 range.
The sunblock is pretty much the same size as any other squeeze-type sunblock, however Botanic Twenty’s sunblock has a nice herbal-like smell to it. I don’t find it overpowering (personally) but it might take some time to get used to it, especially if you’re coming from using like banana boat sunblock or any other brand’s. Prior to this, I had actually been using one of Missha’s sunblock and that one had little-to-no scent
Compared to my last sunblock, this one doesn’t have a white/grey cast which is a blessing. However it’s one of those “glowy” type sunscreens, so it may not be for everyone. I typically use a no-sebum powder on top (not sure if I’m not supposed to..), which kind of controls the shiny-look it gives off. However, if I’m putting on makeup, it serves as a pretty good base for makeup. It’s also kind of tacky to the touch, but just slightly, and it’s not as heavy as some other sunscreens. It also has a more milky-like texture when compared to my last sunscreen, which was kind of hard to spread onto the skin.
Based off of this, it’s not for everyone. My mom loved the idea of the sunscreen to begin with but the “oily” look it gave her skin kind of put her off of using this. I’m not exceptionally picky about things like this, so I’m pretty okay with it. Though what made me like it more was that I felt that it’s a good makeup base as well.
I hope this is a good review for a product/brand that might be new to you. Would you try out this brand? Let me know in the comments below!
