Labiotte Lip Tints: Review

Remember those wine bottle shaped lip tints that popped up on the internet? Yeah, this is what I’m talking about! I never really intended to get them because I already had a lip tint, but a few things happened (needed to reach order minimum, and my lip tint sort of dried out) and next thing I know they were bought, shipped and at my door in 2-3 weeks.

At the time I bought the lip tints, they had released another version with different colours and a new formula; the Labiotte Velvet Lip Tints. So rather than get two from the same line (and review it) I have one of each of the lines to review today.

For the original lip tints, I ended up buying the teeny version of it which wasn’t really a good idea. The larger version of the lip tints are $12 CAD or so already, but the teeny version is $9 CAD…. Anyways, pricing aside, I got it in the colour Rose Coral which is this coral-pink rose colour. It’s a very pretty colour, don’t get me wrong, but with some natural lip colours it may show up a bit more coral, pink or it would turn your lips a light shade of red.

The second lip tint from Labiotte is from the velvet line. I got it in the colour PK01 Saint Rose, which is this pink-nude type colour but it borders a bit more on the pink side. However, like the original tints the colour that shows up will be influenced by how pigmented your natural lips are; because it shows up as a pink-red on my lips LOL.

Overall, with the slight colour discrepancy aside, they are wonderful lip tints. They’ve lasted through a meal, however I don’t think they’ll hold their ground well with oily and greasy foods. The velvet one does tend to cling to dry skin on your lips if it’s super dry, but a light exfoliation before wear should be fine. Between the two, I like the velvet lip tint better. However the original is also great!
