I’m back at it again with another Picky review and like usual, it’s with Skin1004 featuring their Tea-Trica line. I don’t know if anyone has seen it lately, or if it got lost in the middle of all the new products coming out in the past few years/months. But I think that Skin1004 has been killing it lately with the product drops. Here’s what I think about some of their latest.

I do have to mention that I got the Tea-Trica Set for free from Picky and Skin1004 through the Picky Reviewer Program in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

To start, the Tea-Trica set is a set of one Tea-Trica cleansing foam, and one Spot Cover Patch. I actually got a little addition in my package courtesy of Skin1004, and it is the Tea-Trica Relief Ampoule. Thank you to the team over at Skin1004 for that! I can’t wait to try it.

I believe the theme for Skin1004’s Tea-Trica line is the forest, which I guess is a play on the words for the product line (tea tree, you know?). It makes for beautiful packaging and I found myself a little hesitant to let go of the box that houses the cleanser. I also really appreciated how well the print of the forest aligned between the spot patch and the cleanser box, that was satisfying.

The cleanser comes in one of those green-tinted, semi-transparent squeeze tubes. It actually stands fairly tall in comparison to other cleansers and features a cloudy-transparent design which is pretty aesthetic in my opinion. It has both tea-tree leaf water and BHA (salicylic acid) to gently cleanse and exfoliate dead skin, unclogging your pores and leaving your skin feeling soft and clean.

Now, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while (or are new, I don’t judge!) I have been trying out BHA/AHA exfoliators on the side for a while now. I haven’t branched out to having these exfoliating acids in a product (like this cleanser) yet, so this is super new for me.

One thing that surprised me the most is how thick this cleanser was! The cleanser was a little tough to squeeze out, and it literally will hold its shape (after being squeezed out) for a long time. Just take a look at those pictures!

Despite the thick texture, the BHA cleanser is actually really creamy and foams up really well when water is added to create a lather. I found that you can also add a little more water to turn that creamy lather into something less creamy and it works just as well. The cleanser washes off very well too, though I would pay special attention and make sure your eye areas are washed thoroughly because I’ve heard stories about accidentally getting BHA into your eyes and yeah, safe than sorry.

I think it’s rare to get it in your eyes with the cleansing foam though since you can tell if there’s any remaining residue on your face. One thing to mention though is the scent of this product. It has a strong tea-tree scent that’s also a little minty and a little bit of BHA scent there too. If you’ve tried Cosrx’s daily exfoliating pads or any chemical exfoliation pads, you’ll know what I mean, it’s that exact same smell.

It’s a little strong for me so I would proceed with caution if you are especially sensitive to heavily scented products in this case. Other than that, I really enjoyed using this cleanser and would consider getting this when it runs out.

Spot Cover Patch

On the other hand, the Spot Cover Patch (pimple patch) is scentless. It’s a normal semi-beige/yellow colour that we associate with pimple patches and it does it’s job. I originally got a pimple when I received this package, and tried out the patch but the pimple was a little…messy so I chose to not use those photos. I’ll update later on if I do have a chance to use them again, but my skincare has kept most pimples away lately.

It comes in one package with 22 patches, so competitive with the amount sold on the market. There are two sizes to the patches, one is 10mm and the other is 20mm so that’s pretty standard too. The thing that I found interesting about this was that it has an outer and inner ring, which most pimple patches (at least the ones I’ve tried) don’t have.

Spot Cover Patches, minus the one I used. 20mm on the left, 10mm on the right.

Personally, I think more patches need to adopt this style because it makes the overall patch less thick. So it’s thinner on the edges meaning it’s less likely to get caught on anything or lift throughout the day/night. But thicker near the middle which should give enough space/storage to suck up the pus (well, moisture) from the pimple. But overall, it works as intended.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the two products I got to try from Skin1004’s Tea-Trica line. I’m very grateful to have been able to test out so many of Skin1004’s products over the years, and I think it’s been a great few years because they have been dropping so many new products over the last two years. I have already started testing the ampoule but you’ll have to wait until my next post to read about that. Anyways, highly recommend their Tea-Trica line for redness and pimples. Thanks for reading!
