I’m actually so excited to share this initial review.   This is CosRx’s Vitamin E Serum, part of their fairly new Real Fit Vitamin Serum series. They are currently sold out on Cosrx’s website, but they might be available elsewhere. There are three available serums in the series; Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Retinol. I’m already seeing some visible improvements, so let’s get to the initial review!

First off, I got the full sized product through the Picky Reviewer program for free in exchange for an honest review/initial review of the product. We were given the option to choose between Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Retinol. I opted for Vitamin E because I didn’t think my skin could handle Vitamin C or Retinol, and also because I was very interested in the antioxidant properties of the Vitamin E serum.

The serum retails for $29 USD on the CosRx English site, and it comes in a 20mL bottle. The bottle itself is made of darkened glass and is sealed with an individual cap. It also includes a clear glass dropper in the same box. The oil-infused serum is supposed to help brighten the skin and reduce the look of redness/aging while protecting the skin from environmental stressors (it’s an antioxidant!). However, there is a little catch; you have to use the product within 3 months of opening it.

The serum has no scent or colour, and despite being infused with 5 different oils, it’s still very light on the skin. According to their website, it’s supposed to hydrate the skin using oil without the greasy finish, which is true. However I will say that while there’s no greasy finish, it’s a little oily to-the-touch because of the oil component. I’m perfectly fine with this because it’s not a heavy product anyways, so I figure it’ll just absorb into the skin anyways.

The serum is infused with 5 different oils and is given the term synergy on the CosRx website. If you aren’t aware, Synergy is the when two or more substances cooperate to produce a greater combined effect (in comparison to the substances being used individually).

Originally, I was kind of worried because there were 5 different oils infused in this product. I have combination skin and I already currently have an oil-infused/based product in my routine, so I was worried adding another would break me out.

I have very high hopes/expectations for this product (I mean it’s already sold out on CosRx’s website) so I’ll be trying it until November or December and then giving it another review, maybe even sooner if more visible improvements show up. It currently plays nice with all of my products and integrated pretty well into my night-time routine. These are the products I’m currently using this with:
  • Keep Cool and Soothe Toner
  • Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence Rose
  • Nacific Fresh Herb Origin Serum
  • Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream (I won’t be repurchasing)
  • Belif Aqua Bomb

I’m personally very curious as to what effect on the skin would occur with an antioxidant-type product, because I don’t believe I’ve tried them before. I’m thinking along the lines of smoother and brighter, healthy-looking skin but we’ll see. Maybe there’s no visible effect. I’ll check back in again in a few months.
